Traditional Style Lomilomi

Traditional Style Lomilomi as taught by Olivia Hageman, is 3 styles of Lomilomi that have been passed down to her from Aunty Suzi Ko. Aunty Suzi’s family is from upcountry Maui and she was trained in the traditional ways by Aunty Margaret Machado and Papa K Kepilio amongst a few. TSLomi also contains elements of Temple Style from Kahu Abraham’s work.

Lomi is only part of the traditional healer’s toolbox- part of a ho’ola- the healing arts. Within Lomi we address both the body and the sprit, as they are inseparable, one affecting the other. Holistic in nature, traditionally Lomi encompasses not only massage, but heat therapy, diet, herbal therapy, exercise, health education and counselling.

This course will cover an introduction to history and culture, cultural concepts, lineage, and hula basics. Upon completion, students will be able to give a 60 minute, full body massage, and have a foundation for further studies in the Hawaiian healing arts with Holistic Honu Wellness Center with Aunty Suzi.

Thai YogaBodywork

Thai YogaBodywork will be taught by Rachel Nelson, Board Certified Massage therapist and TYB specialist.

This unique form of massage artfully blends the wisdom of Ayurveda and Yogic practices from India with the energy and massage techniques rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Thai Sen Lines, also known as Thai Energy Lines, intricately weave together Ayurveda's Marma Points with the Meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Thai Massage is one of four branches of traditional Thai medicine. The other branches are herbal, nutritional, and spiritual.
